Grenada Lake - Grenada, MS Lake Report on 29th Apr, 2025

Crappie fishing at Grenada Lake is currently producing excellent results as we move into one of the most productive times of the year. With water temperatures rising into the low 60s, crappie are staging near shallow flats, timber, and brush piles. Anglers targeting fish in 6 to 10 feet of water are seeing the best action. Both single pole fishing and spider rigging are delivering solid results. Bright-colored jigs—particularly in chartreuse, pink, and white—have been the most effective, especially when tipped with minnows. The bite tends to be more active during early morning and late afternoon hours, so plan your trip accordingly. Wind has been a factor on some days, so protected coves and sheltered areas have been hot spots for steady bites. The lake level is stable, and water clarity is fair to slightly stained depending on location. Grenada remains one of the top destinations for Mississippi trophy crappie fishing, with many anglers catching fish over 2 pounds. This is an ideal time to book a guided trip with a local crappie fishing guide in Mississippi who knows where the slabs are stacking up. Don’t forget—anglers must have a valid Mississippi fishing license, and it’s a good idea to pack your own snacks, lunch, and drinks (no alcohol allowed on guided trips).
